Eure Inox invests in sustainability: a vacuum evaporation system for the recovery of water
At Eure Inox, we believe that sustainability can be seen as a strategic element for companies. Reducing environmental impact is not necessarily a goal that diverges from a company’s strategic and production objectives. We always evaluate innovations and solutions with an integrated approach, aiming both to improve our processes and to reduce their environmental impact. A prime example of this is the vacuum evaporator we have installed to treat the wastewater of our furnace cleaning process.
The heat pump vacuum evaporation system
At Eure Inox, we recently installed a heat pump vacuum evaporation system, supplied by IWE, at our Peschiera Borromeo facility. The plant is designed with a productivity of 50 liters/hour, specifically calculated to treat the wastewater of our furnace cleaning process. The vacuum evaporation system operates using a heat pump, which ensures the evaporation of water without reaching high temperatures. The distilled water produced is reintroduced into the production cycle. This is the key to efficient and sustainable recovery.
Thanks to this innovation, we can:
- Maintain consistent rinse water quality through continuous treatment by the evaporator, ensuring low salinity levels;
- Achieve a cleaner final product, ensuring the quality of the material treated in the furnaces;
- Recover over 99.9% of wastewater, drastically reducing the volume destined for disposal.
In addition to treating the water from the tanks, the plant is also capable of processing wastewater from other, occasional operations—such as offline washing—thanks to a separate treatment system with a dual loading mechanism. This new installation represents a tangible step towards an increasingly responsible production model, in line with Eure Inox’s environmental sustainability goals.Learn more about the plant in the video produced by IWE: watch the interview or click on the video below to watch the technical explanation.
